FIGHT LIKE APES + UNDERGROUND RAILROAD SATURDAY 7th MARCH 2009 / UNCLE ALBERTS / MIDDLESBROUGH 8:30pm / £FREE! / 18+Uncle Albert's Saturday Social Club proudly brings to you Radio 1's favourite Dubliners FIGHT LIKE APES. Influenced by an A to Z of independent music's elite ( think Pavement, Mclusky, Patti Smith, Built To Spill, My Bloody Valentine, Devo, Sonic Youth and Talking Heads...), Fight Like Apes spent 2008 playing at festivals such as T in The Park, SXSW in Texas and Glasontonbury and have since toured with such luminaries as The Ting Tings, Kasabian, We Are Scientists and most recently, The Prodigy. Phwoar. Regular radio-play from the likes of Zane Lowe, Marc Riley, Jonathan Ross and Steve Lamacq has cemented Fight Like Apes' status as one of the most exciting new bands around. Their debut album has already gone top ten in their native Ireland and with infectious tunes like Jake Summers, Lend Me Your Face and Do You Karate, it'd be no surprise to us if that kind of success followed them onto these shores. Support comes from London-based Parisians Underground Railroad. Signed to the legendary One Little Indian label ( Bjork, Alabama 3, Twilight Singers etc), Underground Railroad's Pixies meets Pavement sound has seen them tour with the likes of Ladyhawke, Nada Surf and Deerhoof. Ooh la la! Guest DJ set from Laura "Das Wanderlust" Simmons. Not one to be missed. Entry is FREE! Doors open at 8:30pm. www.uncle-alberts.co.ukwww.myspace.com/fightlikeapesmusicwww.myspace.com/urailroad

The song is mostly an attempt to inspire other people like the rehab sessions were motivational for Kiedis to abandon the drugs. How to get a girlfriend
